NAVIGATING YOUR EMERGENCY ROOM BILL
It doesn't have to be a headache! We have a team of friendly, helpful billing specialists that advocate for our patients and are here to help you any way we can!
At Texas Emergency Care Center we understand that the rising cost of healthcare and the complicated web of health insurance rules, regulations, and games is very confusing and frustrating. Our goal is to help you understand your insurance benefits and our billing process in a way that is easy and understandable. If you have any questions about your insurance, your explanation of benefits or the billing process please contact 281-238-5005 and ask to speak to one of our patient advocates.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EMERGENCY ROOM BILLING:
Insurance Rules
Insurance companies must treat all emergency visits the same, regardless if you visit an in-network facility or an out-of-network facility. Your emergency visit at Texas Emergency Care Center is to be paid based on your in-network benefits, regardless of our relationship with your insurance company. This safeguards you so you are not searching for an in-network provider when you need care now. Insurance Code law can be found here.
Insurance Games
At Texas Emergency Care Centers we call this Delay, Deny & Underpay! Don’t be fooled by your insurance; they MUST pay for your emergency visits as long as you have emergency room coverage in your health insurance plan (don’t be surprised many plans do not have emergency coverage).
Their job is to make a hefty profit for their shareholders so they hold on to every penny they can, even if it’s at your expense.
Don’t worry, Texas Emergency Care Center has their number and we know how to play the game. We will work with you every step of the way to ensure that all the bases are covered and that the insurance plan pays at the appropriate regulated and contracted benefit level.
