Texas Department of Insurance Approves Denial of ER Patient Rights for Consumers Across Texas

In light of recent news regarding the new Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) “HMO Emergency Benefit Management Process,” Texas Emergency Care Center CEO Rhonda Sandel has a message for patients with BCBSTX insurance:

“Texas Emergency Care Center has always been your trusted advocate for emergency health care. We take great pride in offering our patients high-quality care by Board Certified Emergency Physicians in a Joint Commission Accredited facility—this is something everyone deserves. Don’t let the insurance companies scare you into making decisions about your health that only a doctor can. Our doors are ALWAYS open. We will ALWAYS treat our patients. And when it comes to insurance companies, we will not stop fighting for you until BCBSTX pays what you and your doctor felt was necessary and required for your care.”
