Patient Eligibility
- You must be 35 or older
- It has been at least a year since your last mammogram
- You must NOT be pregnant or breastfeeding
- You must not have implants or any breast issues such as a lump or discharge from the nipple area
- You must be ambulatory and able to maneuver the unit stairs and stand for 10-15 minutes without assistance
- Have seen a gynecologist, primary care physician or internist within the last year who is willing to accept your screening results
- If you’ve had a unilateral mastectomy or benign lumpectomy you must be 5 years cancer-free
- Women ages 30-34 with a mother or sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer before age 40. The “10 year rule” will be applied (i.e. a relative was diagnosed at 42, eligibility begins at age 32)
Registration:
We have two options for scheduling with the Mobile Mammography Van:
- Call the scheduling line at 713-745-4000
OR - Send the patient questionnaire to MobileMammoCalendar@mdanderson.com and a representative will contact you within 24 hours.
Please follow these instructions to prepare for your scheduled screening:
- Wear a two-piece outfit
- Do not apply lotion or powder to the breast or underarm area; do not wear perfume
- Apply deodorant sparingly if necessary
- Bring your insurance card if applicable and one form of picture identification listed below in order for services to be rendered:
- State/Federal Government Issued document with photo
- VISA
- Passport
- Employer Issued Photo ID or Badge
- Educational Institution Issued Photo ID or Badge
